During this trip to Kenya I have learned some wonderful things. When I went to places like the slums or the baby orphanage, I learned that these kids don’t need things like video games and computers. They need love. But I still see that even though they live in a garbage dump or don’t have parents, they are happy. The babies at the orphanage were so happy when they were being held or played with. And I really saw that all they need is love and they need to be cared for, so I was so glad I could help out. I also realized that I was once in this situation, without a mom or dad so I could relate to them. I am so much more thankful now. I can now see why grandma always tells me “Always thank God for your belongings.” To see that these babies don’t have a mom or dad I am so much more thankful for my family and friends.
